An overnight designed for beginners, this trip offers an introduction to kayak camping. Paddle an open-water crossing to a treasured inner island. Hike forested trails. Swim crystal waters. Enjoy a two-day outing and a night under the stars.

Paddle Through Time – $460

Our most popular overnight adventure

3 days, 2 nights

An immersive excursion, this three-day tour follows a standard route along the archipelago’s string of inner islands. Sights include brownstone cliffs, sandstone sea caves, lighthouses, beaches, shipwrecks, and scenic waterfront campsites. Covering 24-30 miles of paddling, this trip is our most popular overnight adventure.

Island Base Camp – $595

A family and exploratory adventure

4 days, 3 nights

By using the same campsite each night, the time-consuming deconstruction and reconstruction of camp is eliminated. This provides ample time to explore the island inside and out. Opportunities for hiking, swimming, fishing, and learning about Ojibwe culture are presented on this four-day trip.

Wild Island Escape – $730

An intermediate level outer island loop

5 days, 4 nights

Our five-day expedition accesses far-flung islands with wildlife and starry nights abound. These elusive locations are marked by remote beaches, historic lighthouses, old-growth forests, hiking trails, and lagoons. Long open-water crossings will provide challenging opportunities to practice paddling skills and techniques.

Devils Island Rendezvous – $865

Our most advanced trip

6 days, 5 nights

This six-day journey winds through the Apostle Islands while aiming for the Lakeshore’s most prized destination: the Devils Island sea caves. Stops along the way may include sandy beaches, lagoons, lighthouses, shipwrecks, quarries, a fish camp, and so much more. Multiple open water crossings will provide ample opportunities to sharpen paddling abilities.

All guided trips use and include tandem and triple sea kayaks for safety.

Trip Policies:

“Because of Lake Superior’s power and unpredictability, the National Park Service does NOT recommend the use of small open boats, canoes, open cockpit or sit-upon kayaks, and paddleboards for travel between islands or to the sea caves. A sea kayak is the recommended kayak that should be used in the Apostle Islands.”
